Night photography workshop Maastricht

The magic of the night gives an extra dimension to the experience of photography. For this evening photography workshop we settle down in Burgundian Maastricht, where we will make the most of the golden and blue hour. The oldest bridge in the Netherlands, the Sint Servaasbrug, is part of our decor. Just like the Gouvernement, which is beautiful to photograph in the evenings. We end at one of the most famous squares in the Netherlands, the Vrijthof.

Aspects that are certainly discussed are color, white balance, exposure, long exposures, photography with filters and of course camera settings. Determining beautiful compositions and capturing the sunset. Photographing and drawing stars from lights and reflections in the water. You are guaranteed to go home with spectacular photos!

What does the course of the workshop look like?

After a short introduction we’ll go over some basic night photography theory, which also includes looking at our equipment and location. Photography level isn’t important, both beginners and advanced photographers are welcome. We have plenty of time to try different techniques and get the right composition before the blue hour sets in. Even after the blue hour we will be able to make sparkling photos with the right settings. Afterwards we give ourselves and our cameras a well-deserved break with a cold drink and feedback on your best pics.

• If you have a tripod, bring it with you.
• If you have any filters, bring them with you.
• You can use polarizing filters, ND grey and gradient grey filters are all useful in this workshop.
• You can also borrow a tripod and/or filters.
• You can park at Parking Maastricht (Maasboulevard 80 Maastricht) or at Q Park Vrijthof (Vrijthof 100 Maastricht)
• We start on time, so be there!
• We gather at the Sint Servaasbrug.
