Photography day Belgium – Ardennes & Liège

Not a workshop of a few hours, but a real photography day. Spectacular nature and architecture are on the program. At a good hour's drive from Venlo is one of the most beautiful areas in the Ardennes. Be surprised by cool rock formations in the fast-flowing river, waterfalls and the old-aged forest along the banks. Untouched nature, just across the border.

A true highlight in Architecture, the station of Liège, we will guide you here on this day full of photography fun! Here you can wander for hours and everywhere you look you can find beautiful lines. How do you best photograph this? You will learn all that during this photography day!

Aspects that are certainly discussed are color, white balance, exposure and camera settings. Capturing fast flowing water with long shutter speeds. Taking advantage of the landscape in your composition and the benefits of shooting with filters. Playing with lines in architecture and the best angle. All this in a relaxed way in a truly beautiful setting. You are guaranteed to go home with spectacular photos and a wonderful feeling!

What does the course of the workshop look like?

After a short introduction, we'll look at the theory about nature and landscape photography, we also go through our equipment and the location. Your knowledge does not matter, both beginners and advanced are welcome. We walk to the most beautiful places in the Ardennes. We have a delicious lunch in the field at an idyllic location.

Then we set course for Guillemins, the architectural wonder and station of Liège. A totally different way of photographing and that's what makes this day so much fun! Afterwards, we allow ourselves and the cameras to rest while enjoying a drink, with room for questions and feedback on your best photos.

• If you have a tripod, bring it with you.
• If you have any filters, bring them with you. You can use polarizing filters, ND grey and gradient grey filters are all useful in this workshop.
• You can also borrow a tripod and/or filters.
• We have lunch together in the field at a beautiful spot in the Ardennes.
• In Liège there are plenty of eateries near the photography location for those who want it.
• We walk about 4 to 5 kilometers, so make sure to wear appropriate shoes.
• We start on time, so be there!
• We gather to carpool in Tegelen, located near Venlo.
• Would you rather drive straight to Belgium? That is of course always possible! We will then meet in Belgium at a parking facility to be determined.
