This week we would like to share some positive news with you! You will undoubtedly know what the situation looks like in the Netherlands, but what does it look like in other countries at the moment? We are happy to answer this question.

Asia Photo Travels and Tours

Of course we keep a constant eye on the developments and the corona situation in our destination countries. We work very closely with local entrepreneurs in our destination countries. In this way Travelmarks-Photography supports local and smaller companies. A perfect example of this is Win, our guide in Myanmar. Win himself works for Asia Photo Travels and Tours and therefore knows all the tricks of the trade when it comes to photography.

Covid-19 in Myanmar

People soon think that in a country with more than 56 million inhabitants many infections will take place, but nothing could be further from the truth. Myanmar, also known as Burma, has more than 113,000 corona infections counted so far. Just for comparison: In the Netherlands this number is currently about 5.5 times as large. In addition, fewer than 3,000 people died from the virus during the entire pandemic. This is also a very low number.

As a result of the amount of infections, the government in Myanmar revoked a large number of corona measures earlier this year. Public transport is slowly starting up again and shops and restaurants have also opened their doors again. A mouth mask is also mandatory here everywhere. The government itself indicates that it can properly control the virus and the local population is also looking forward to a return to normal life.

Travel restrictions

Of course it is not yet possible to travel. Nevertheless, we remain positive! As soon as it is allowed again, this is one of the countries we want to travel to again. They also need us very much as Myanmar is very dependent on tourism.

For now we will unfortunately have to wait a while, but we are eagerly looking forward to 2021 when hopefully much more will be possible.
